It's insanely difficult at times, as even though it's just a matter of mixing stuff in the inventory it's not at all obvious what you have to do. All the people you meet are fun to talk to and the whole game is very reminiscent of Whispered World. Rufus is an engaging character in spite of his many faults and many of his conversations made me laugh out loud. The game is set on the rubbish strewn planet of Deponia - the main character, Rufus, is desperate to leave and think he sees his chance when a beautiful girl from Elysium falls down to the planet. From Kuvaq, an improvised village built inside a giant trash heap, to the swimming black market and the dark corners of the elevated planetary railways: Deponia is brought to life with detailed hand-painted backgrounds in widescreen format and top-quality cartoon animation combined nine chapters featuring many exciting plot twists. The twist-filled story takes its off-beat characters all over trash planet Deponia, a unique game world in the style of Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett and Matt Groening. However, things don’t work out quite as planned, since he has feelings for the beauty which limit his usual unscrupulousness. When he notices that Goal’s husband is a dead ringer for himself, he hatches a diabolical scheme to gain access to the upper world. Rufus decides to help the young woman out by taking her back to her husband. Fate seems to smile on the snotty good-for-nothing when one day the attractive lady named Goal from the higher sectors plummets into one of the trash heaps. He hopes for an opportunity to get into the world of the rich, who live in floating cities high above the clouds. He is part of the lowest social class, doomed to live his life in literal mountains of trash. In Deponia, the world has degenerated into a vast garbage dump, in which the crotchety Rufus ekes out his sorry existence.
